great new reviews of “one river”

there have been two great reviews of one river published in the past two days from two wonderful sites : dusted magazine, who who reviewed the album here, and from pitchfork media’s cory byrom, who wrote this kind review.

if you’re here for the first time, be sure to check out liam singer’s new album, our secret lies beneath the creek, which was engineered by scott. you’ll hopefully be reading some great reviews of it in the near future as well.

may update

hi tell-all friends — we’re here with a short update.

we had some great shows in san francisco in april; thanks to everyone who came out to hear our music.

scott solter’s one river will be officially available on may 30th. we’ve already heard some nice things said about the record - smother.net made it an editor’s pick, jon worley of aiding and abetting wrote a nice short review, and babysue also weighed in positively.
music-scan.de contributed a nice review in german (translated by the googs here).

dave heaton also gave a nice writeup of the first five pieces in twelve, our ep series for the big takeover. it’s a great introduction to the series, and dave writes thoughtful short reviews of each entry.

finally, some very exciting news: liam singer’s new album is done, mastered, and is being shipped off to the manufacturer this week. the record is called our secret lies beneath the creek and we’ll have some brand new sample tracks for you to hear this week, plus the album artwork.

brian harnetty

we’re excited to announce that brian harnetty’s contribution to twelve has arrived! it’s a beautiful collage from many sources — check out the sample mp3 to hear a snippet. we’ve received more subscriptions to the series lately, so be sure to get yours now - the first 40-50 subscriptions will get “special” artwork, artwork that we put a lot of love (and time) into making.

in other news, one umbrella were invited to perform again at this year’s south-by-southwest. more details soon — we hope to follow this announcement with other invitations.

one river is headed off to the presses this week, so we’ll have it in our hands in just a few weeks. album artwork will be posted soon. we’re also working on some tell-all showcases in the bay area in february and april - we’ll keep you posted.

tell-all 2006: kallikak ep, scott solter download, &c

happy new year from tell-all records! it’s hard to believe that 2k6 is upon us, but here we are. the kallikak family have contributed to the twelve ep series with their note, g, marking the third installment. and, speaking of the kallikak family, may 23rd 2007 continues to get new reviews, this time from tiny mix tapes , the australian weekly rave magazine, and porcys (in polish; can anyone translate?). may 23rd 2007 also showed up on many top-ten lists at the end of the year, including 3 lists from pitchfork writers, radio stations, and others. the lists close out a great year for the kallikak family and for tell-all.

liam singer spent a week in the studio with scott solter recording his next album, to be released in april/may 2006. liam and scott will take a short holiday break before a couple more days of recording in january, followed by mixing at tiny telephone. we also finally have a sample track from scott solter’s upcoming release, one river. check it out!

finally, the new ep in the twelve series, from ohio composer brian harnetty, will be available shortly. look for a sample soon. we’re also planning several bay-area shows in the upcoming months, and we’re beginning to plan for sxsw 2006. we’ll keep you posted.
