also, our secret lies beneath the creek got a mention on 30music.com. its official release is august 29th, and you’ll see it in listening stations at select independent record stores around the country during the month of september. exciting!

june : new liam singer! more twelve! etc!

our copies of liam singer’s new album, “our secret lies beneath the creek”, just arrived in the mail today, and we’re way excited to finally have them in our hands. this album was recorded in december and january with scott solter engineering, it sounds and looks GREAT! we have some samples and an order form up on the website, so click here if you’re ready for some piano action.

scott solter’s own album, one river, has been officially released for a few weeks now, and has begun to receive much positive press - check out new reviews from indie workshop, almost cool, erasing clouds, and illinois entertainer. scott is currently in san francisco, producing and recording john vanderslice’s next album, as well as mixing a project he recorded for grant miller (of mandible chatter). however, he and his wife have recently relocated to north carolina, where he will continue running his own studio - so if you’re in that area, and are lookin g for an amazing engineer, be sure to check him out! his website is scottsolter.com, and he plans to be up and running sometime in june.

new sound samples from the twelve series are up, including new entries from one umbrella and jack shriner. give them a listen.

we’ve also got a new distro item in stock, “little darla has a treat for you vol. 24,” a compilation from darla records. it’s 36 tracks on 2 cds for only $7 plus shipping, so check it out! the comp includes an exclusive track from the kallikak family, plus new music from robin guthrie (!), run_return, aarktica, and more. check it out here.

be sure to join our mailing list using the form above, because you can get a free tell-all vol. 1 compilation. really, it’s great, and we’ll send it to you just for giving us your e-mail address! we promise not to write to you too often.

remember that we’re always accepting submissions and that we will listen to them, though; it may take us a ridiculous amount to do so, and; we can’t promise that, even if we love it, we’ll have the resources to release it! that said, it’s always great to hear the exciting sounds that people are making.

march madness

tell-all friends and fans! how good it is that we get a chance to speak again.

a lot has happened since our last installment — one umbrella played an excellent showcase at oslo for sxsw, and we shared a cozy day party with western vinyl and others during the festival as well. be sure to check out the western vinyl roster — they’ve got some amazing artists.

also, we’ve got an update for our steadfast ep subscribers — due to a delay in receiving scott solter’s contribution, and a ridiculous sequence of events involving sewing and seage, we have yet to get either the february or march installment out the door. fear not! we have scott’s EP in our hands right now and it will be shipping tomorrow, and bay area composer dave malloy will contribute the march EP within a week or two. we’ll be right back on schedule for our april release featuring one umbrella.

scott solter’s record is going out the door to press and radio in the coming week - if you have any press requests, please email tellallrecords at gmail dot com. we’re excited to get this album out to the world — we’ve been listening to it and loving it for months.

liam singer’s second, still-untitled record is off to mastering, and we’re finishing the artwork and getting ready for the discs to be pressed. we’ll have some lush, beautifully recorded sample mp3s up as soon as possible.

thanks for your support, and we’ll have more news for you soon!

the love season

It’s exciting times here at tell-all records, as our 2006 release schedule officially kicks off with Scott Solter’s One River. The discs are finally back from the manufacturer, and they look sooooo beautiful. The official release date won’t be for a little while longer, but if you want to own this wonderful album now, you can order it directly from us here.

This month’s EP series release will also be from Scott, who’s be providing us with the note “G-flat.” We haven’t heard it yet, but we expect fantastic things from this fantastic man.

In press news, Tiny Mix Tapes wrote a cool piece that pits tell-all’s The Kallikak Family against The Akron Family, and also mentions our EP series “Twelve.” It’s so cool that we can forgive them for calling us “shmoopy”… unless maybe shmoopy is a compliment. Dammit, I feel like an old man.

Tell-all’s Liam Singer is in the finishing stages of his newest release, which we expect to have out in April. Liam will also be composing the music for the April installment of San Francisco’s “GO,” a monthly event that teams together a visual artist, writer, and musician - we’ll make sure to post more info about this event as it approaches.

Several TAR artists will be playing live shows around the Bay Area in April… Liam, Dave Zohrob, and Keith Negley’s band Snowdrift will perform on the 9th at the make-out room, and a soon-to-be confirmed tell-all showcase will be happening later that month.

In other news, some people had some nice things to say about May 23rd 2007. PopMatters, Delusions of Adequacy, and woebot all weigh in. Serious stuff.

As always, thanks for your interest, and for listening. Happy Valentines day… or as we call it around here, “the love season.”

liam’s ep, one river, and more

liam’s entry in the ep series, f, is available now! subscribers’ discs were mailed earlier this week, so if you haven’t received yours yet, you should be getting it soon. subscribe today and receive handcrafted packaging featuring paint, stitching, and hand-typed art.

we’re excited to finally have mp3s from one river by scott solter available. you can now pre-order the album for the special price of $8 - you’ll receive it as soon as the discs are in our hand from the manufacturer. we’re sure you’ll love the album as much as we do.

in other news, we’re thinking ahead to south by southwest in march, and planning for the full release of scott solter’s album. liam will be heading into the studio (with scott engineering) to record his next full-length for tell-all in december - we’ll have more news on that soon. one umbrella are also hard at work on their next album.

happy thanksgiving from all of us here at tell-all.

new news system!

we’re going to be trying a new blog system to manage our news here at tell-all. this means that it’ll be much easier for everyone here at the label to post about what’s going on. we’re also planning on updating with more information more often, with posts on stuff like what we’re listening to, shows we’ve attended, etc. i’ll be posting soon with information about the decibel electronic music festival i attended last weekend in seattle.

we’ve also got a new review of may 23rd 2007, this time from cokemachineglow. thanks to peter for the kind words.

our old news can be found here; i don’t have the energy right now to import all of those posts to this page. you can also go directly to this blog (and syndicate via RSS if you wish) at www.tellallrecords.com/blog. thanks for reading!
